Melania Trump thanks Egypt
On Tuesday, the first lady in the United States, Melania Trump, posted a video on the social networking site Twitter in Egypt after her lightning visit.
The first lady praised the "good reception and hospitality in Egypt, expressing her admiration and appreciation for the ancient Egyptian civilization and its pride in friendship between the Egyptian and American peoples."
Melania met last Saturday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his wife, Nasr Amer, at the Federal Palace in Cairo.
And visited the pyramids of Giza and stood in front of the statue of the Sphinx, at the end of the African tour, which included four countries, the last stations Egypt.
During the hour-long tour, Melania stood in front of the statue and pondered it repeatedly, and received an explanation from the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mustafa al-Waziri.
She highlighted the efforts to preserve the effects Washington is cooperating with Cairo, and then went to Melania later to Panorama Pyramid, to take photographs.
Melania started her African tour last Tuesday in Ghana before visiting Malawi, Kenya and Egypt. In Ghana, Melania visited a castle that was used centuries ago for the slave trade. In Malawi, she visited a primary school and fed the young elephants in a zoo in Kenya.
The first lady's trip to the African continent is her first major international trip to promote childcare and education after she launched her own awareness campaign to help children last May.
