 Yesterday, Sunday, the sessions of the first international players forum organized by the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee represented by the Players Committee concluded, and lasted for two days, with the participation of the most prominent international sports figures.


On this occasion, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his trustworthy Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God preserve them - for their support and interest in Saudi sports.


He also thanked Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, for his constant interest in the Olympic Committee and the various Saudi sports and the Players' Committee in particular due to his understanding of the sports sector stemming from his being a player before he headed this system.


Bin Jalawi stressed that the outcomes of the forum will be an important factor in the development of players after retirement at the professional and personal level, praising all the forum's guests who were at a high level of experience and achievements.


The Vice President stressed the important role that the player's family and friends play in supporting and directing the player to obtain the best achievements, indicating that the sports sector led by the Ministry of Sports has spared no effort to provide the appropriate environment for athletes to practice their favorite games, through which it aimed to reassure families of the concerns of their children. .


The first session on Sunday started with hosting the former captain of the Saudi national football team, Majid Abdullah, and former Saudi national team goalkeeper, Dr. Turki Al-Awad, under the management of Muhammad Al-Khatim, entitled "Players After Retirement", in which Majid Abdullah indicated that they had fled through the Association of "Friends of Football Players" A number of possibilities to help retired soccer players, including homes, jobs, medical insurance and others, demanding that sports federations establish committees dedicated to their players to serve them after retirement, praising in this regard the role of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal in providing full support to the association.


Dr. Turki Al-Awad revealed that practicing sports besides studying enhances a person's self-confidence and helps him gain new personal skills, calling on players not to neglect the cognitive aspect of their lives, since the practice of professionalism stops at the age of 35 in most cases.


In the second session moderated by Hani Al-Muhammad and hosted by Nasser Al-Daghaither, Ali Al-Zahrani and Arwa Mutabqani entitled "The role of the father, mother and coach in building the personality of the players" Families lack the sports culture and believe that it affects the school yield of their children, despite the fact that sport helps regulate a person's life.


Regarding his personal experience as the father of one of the Saudi players, Nasser Al-Daghaither said that they, as parents, should work on developing self-challenge in the player so that he is eager to achieve achievements, stressing that the family's first concern is that sport distracts its son from his studies and this is a false belief as he put it because it should treat its son The athlete is a distinguished human being.


Arwa Mutabagani explained that as a mother and trainer to her daughter, the knight Dalma Malhas, she differentiated between emotion and reason in raising and training her daughter, in order to reach the highest sporting achievements, because the family has a great role in preparing the player psychologically and morally.



In the third session "How can a player benefit from Olympic solidarity" in which Olivier Nyamke was a guest under the management of Yasser Al-Zahrani, Nyamke said: "The budget for Olympic solidarity in the International Olympic Committee exceeds $ 500 million, allocated to support the activities of the National Olympic Committees around the world and local sports federations. Among the terms of their support for various athletes around the world is providing support for the professional transformation of players after their retirement in order to become sports coaches.


In the session of clean sports and the danger of doping, which was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Al-Bahlal and hosted by Dr. Muhammad Al-Qanbaz, Marceline Daly and Cady Kanoute, Al-Qanbaz emphasized that doping causes three problems: health, legal and ethical, explaining the importance of education in reducing this problem through its educational programs, especially for students in the early stages of life .


Kanoute revealed that they are in the process of issuing a new version of the Doping Control System, to be launched in 2021.


Daly suggested that the neighboring countries show solidarity to ensure the appropriate environment for athletes in combating doping to ensure a positive effect in the long run.


In the session "The Psychological Factor on Sports Performance", in which Abdullah Al-Sunaid hosted Dr. Muhammad Al-Suleiman, Dr. Muhammad Faqihi and the player Badr Al-Daghaither, Fakihi explained that psychological preparation is part of the general preparation of an athlete, indicating that the psychological preparation in Arab countries is largely neglected compared to the physical preparation.


Faqihi said: "The prevailing view of psychological preparation is that it takes place the day before the competition, which is completely wrong. Rather, it must be within an integrated program to ensure that the player reaches the competition in the best way."


He was supported in this regard by Dr. Al-Suleiman, who said: “Psychotherapy is not a magic wand that prepares the player for a day and night. Rather, it must be included in the seasonal program for the whole team, because it consists of several elements such as managing feelings, motivation and self-confidence.”


Al-Deghaither said: "The player goes through three stages that represent psychological challenges for him, the first when he first matches his official match, the second when he becomes the star of the team, and the third with his advanced age at that time, he is required to provide a greater level to prove himself."


He added, "Psychological equipment differs from one player to another, and the practice of psychological charging on players before the match brings him out of the competition atmosphere, unlike some players who succeed with psychological charging to enter the atmosphere of the match," calling on the players to separate the problems of home, work and sports
